about

[Artwork: by "Lotiz"] This single release features New York Jazz Violist; Jim Nolet accompanied by the prodigical Jazz pianist Arturo O'Farrill“, Afro-Cuban percussionist Eddie Bobé, Darryl Hall on double bass, and Reggie Nicholson on drums. Having lived most of his life in Brooklyn, Nolet's culture of sound, especially in this recording speaks of the barrios and reflects his afro-cuban influences. Here, the mastery of Arturo O'farrill's and Nolet's rhythmic interplay with master percussionist Eddie Bobé is highlighted through the comping of volist's guajeos, and the pianist's montuno compás. This ensemble's recording is a perfect adventure of true jazz as; an influential fusion of blues, bop and latin musics.

-The Seattle Post Intelligencer
