"Nolet's viola...a rich sonority"
-Daniella Thompson
"Nolet displays passion, cunning eclecticism, and heretofore hidden depths and reaches...(he) chews off strong personalities from jazz history and recasts there messages through a personal, complex lyricism that is by turns, both sweet and pained."
-- The Stranger
"(Nolet)... is superb throughout this collection of familiar and original tracks, recorded in Sao Paulo in a relaxed session... has a warm, lyrical tone that's refreshingly squeal-free"
-- AllMusic

Nolet’s jazz Identity took shape in the workshops, studios and clubs of New York, where his work in mainstream, bop and Latin music circles ensured development of a jazz foundation that is both solid and diverse. Since the early 2000's however, Nolet sustained his artistic focus on Brazilian jazz and world music influences, composing, arranging, performing and recording in Sao Paulo as well as studying Brazilian percussion. Arco Voz's core ensemble is generally viola/violin, cello, double bass with traditional percussion and delicate vocals. "Algo" features a sultry vocal in a poetic portuguese, combined with the post-bop modalism with a rich alto/tenor bluesy ballad interplay between vocals, and viola embellished by the harmonic tones of New York's jazz vibraphonist sensation, Bill Ware.
